Signs My Exhaust Manifold Gasket Is Leaking

There may come a point when the exhaust manifold gasket will crack in the exhaust system. When this happens, you will have one or more of the following problems. Do not worry. We can replace the exhaust manifold gasket if it has cracked.

Rotten Performance

Unfortunately, when the gasket cracks, it releases exhaust into the engine. These exhaust gases fill the engine in the combustion chamber and inhibit the engine’s performance. In fact, the reason why the exhaust is drawn out of the combustion chamber is because it prevents combustion.

Rotten Fuel Economy

Unfortunately, because your engine is struggling to perform, you will see a reduction in your fuel economy. When the engine is stuffed with exhaust, it will increase its fuel consumption because it is having difficulties producing power. This will leave you with an empty tank sooner.

Tapping or Popping

If you suspect that you have a cracked exhaust manifold, we recommend that you listen carefully when you start your automobile. You may be able to hear tapping, popping, or hissing. These are the sounds that the exhaust makes when it is leaking out of the crack in the exhaust manifold gasket.

Hot Engine Odors

Your sense of smell may also tell you that you have a cracked exhaust manifold gasket. Aside from affecting the engine’s performance, the leaking exhaust will also heat up the engine and make it overheat. You will be able to smell burning odors coming from the engine until we replace the leaking gasket so that the exhaust remains in the exhaust system.

Strong Exhaust Odors

Replacing the leaking gasket is crucial because the exhaust can also leak into your passenger cabin. This can make you sick while you are driving your automobile. In fact, inhaling your vehicle’s exhaust can be deadly. Consequently, a leaking exhaust manifold gasket can affect your health. Don’t take chances. Check Engine Warning
